| Any tips on Selling College Books? | | I have some college books that I don't need any more because I am done with those courses. I was thinking about selling them on EBAY. I was just wondering if any one here had any tips for me? It would help me out a lot! | |
| | College Books | | So I was supposed to start this discussion yesterday but I forgot. So I went to sell my books back to my bookstore and I was hoping that I would get enough to buy at least two of the books that I need. So I was so dissapointed because I was only able to sell one of the books and it was for $9. I was so sad at that. And then some of the other books that I had, like three of them weren't worth anything. So I am thinking of just selling them to BN no matter what price I get, because I already want to get rid of them. I'm not even using these books anymore and they are taking up space. So what has been you guys experience with selling books back? If you haven't had any experience then you could just respond and comfort me while I wallow in my sadness.[em]cry[/em] | |

| College books | | So I was going over online the list of books that I would need to get for this semester. And they cost a lot. There is like one that cost around $21 and if I buy it used it'll cost $16. Right now I don't really have a penny to buy the books with. So I have some old books here from other semesters and I am going to try and sell them back to my bookstore tomorrow. Hopefully they give me enough to buy three books and I'll have some money leftover. They usually are supposed to give me like half of the original cost. And the books that I have I bought them new. So I have a guess of how much I might get, but it might be less or nothing at all. I think I might get around $150 which will be enough to buy three books and have some leftover.I need you guys to pray for me and send me all your good vibes so that everything goes good tomorrow. I really need to buy those new books for class which starts on Tuesday. Most of the books from my online classes I was able to get them from the library but then i need to buy these other books from the two classes that I am taking on campus because I can't find them in the library. So I'll really appreciate it if you guys send me your good... | |
| | Where do you buy your college books? | | We all know collegebooks are terribly expensive and going through my own booklist for next semester I started looking around for good internet adresses.I like to buy my books in good second hand shape because it can really save up a lot of money and some are hardly used. I go to the second hand department in book stores, shop for second hand books online and sometimes I even find one in a thriftstore for 1 euro (yes, it happened once... bizar!).
When one must pay their own books they get creative in finding cheap onces[em]wink[/em].If for some reason I can't find a book second hand (too new for example and you need the latest print because too much has been changed in the book) then I will buy it new online or in a bookstore.Where do you buy your collegebooks?
Do you get new ones or do you try to buy them used?
Is there perhaps a option to rent them were you study? | |

| Are College Books Over Priced? | | I recently decided to go back to school to get my degree in nursing, and boy, I am payin like $500 plus in the books alone. To top it off, most of the professos don't even use the books. Talk about highway robbery! My kids better get a full scholarship with a book grant or they may have to join the military like I did. It's just crazy. Thank god for used books! | |
| | Are you still keeping your old school/college books in your shelf? | | Yes i am safely holding many of my school books, some notes, College books and notes too.I did commerce as my major in college and so i have kept income tax reference books and Business management books.I refer this books even now.
Apart from this i am also keeping some books which i got as prize while i was in school. Those books contain children stories, general knowledge quiz books & a dictionary.I have read this story books many times as it is very interesting eventhough its for childrens.
How about you.Are you keeping some books as memories of school/college days or do you dispose them every year when you pass out for your next class?

| | Book Pricing or Alternatives | | As many know the price of college textsbook are pretty high. You can buy a science book for two hundred dollars and use it only for three months to get five dollors when you sell it back. My question is, has anyone found a better alternative to save money? What do you thing could be a better possibility than spending so much on a book, that at times is never used? I want to see how so many view this issue. Thank you | |

| I am so mad..... | | I have been talking to a girl about buying a book for my psychology class for about a week now. She posted it on Craig's List for $60 or best offer. Well, my mom drove for an hour to meet this girl at her house, and she informed my mom that the book was $90. She said that I must have misunderstood. I told her to shove the book because I have a copy of the original CL posting, and she did, indeed ask for $60. She didn't say anything anywhere about $90 for any of the books she has for sale. I can't believe that she tried to con my mom out of an extra $30, when I could buy the book for the exact same price at the bookstore at school. Does she really think that my mom is stupid enough to just buy the book and not call me when she found herself $30 short? I mean, come on! I am tired of people trying to rip me off. Has anything like that ever happened to you? | |
